Council for the Town of Espanola is pleased to announce the appointment of Julie Bouthillette as the new Treasurer for the Town of Espanola. As the Treasurer, Ms. Bouthillette will play an important role in overseeing the financial affairs and strategic financial management of our municipality.
Ms. Bouthillette brings to us over 10 years of Public Sector accounting experience with the majority being in the municipal sector as a Treasurer/Director of Financial Services. Ms. Bouthillette is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Laurentian University. Her most recent position was Director of Financial Services with the Township of Georgian Bay.
Ms. Bouthillette will assume all areas of finance including budgets, financial reporting, financial statements, audits, treasury, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, taxes, debt management and investment portfolio. These roles have been fulfilled by long-time employee, Cathy Tessier, Manager of Financial Services/Deputy Treasurer, who has recently announced her plans for retirement. Ms. Tessier will be working closely with Ms. Bouthillette over the next several months as part of this transition prior to her retirement in early 2025.
