Story Time is an early literacy and kindergarten preparation program for children ages 3-4 years old who are attending school for the first time the following September. The program runs once a week for 45 minutes. Children will explore the world of literacy and a classroom setting through the use of books, games, songs, stories, puppets and more! Family Story Time is a free family friendly program that includes a craft, an activity, and a story reading! This program runs for one hour on one Saturday per month, and is a drop-in program with no registration required.
The TD Summer Reading Club is Canada’s biggest, bilingual summer reading program. The Espanola Public Library runs a TD Summer Reading Club each summer for kids between the ages of 4-12 years of age. This program focuses on individual reading with the children, story times, arts & crafts, activities and outdoor play. Each year brings a new theme and all new experiences! On the second & fourth Friday of every month, from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm, the library offers adults free admission to a movie played on the big screen in our library meeting room. Movies range from multiple genres such as Action, Comedy, Romance, Horror, Documentaries, and more! No registration required. The library offers free, 1 hour long, one-on-one sessions for patrons looking for assistance with a personal electronic device, such an iPad, tablet, cellphone, laptop etc. Sessions are available by appointment only. Please call or visit the library to inquire and book your session.

From October to May, the library hosts a free monthly games night on the third Thursday of every month from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Patrons may come as a group or as an individual and join in on the games! Children under the age of 14 must have adult supervision.
From September to June, the library hosts a free monthly book club on the last Thursday of every month form 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm. Refer to our events calendar or monthly events newsletter to see what book we’re reading! Copies will be available at the library for borrowing. Everyone is welcome.
