Contracting Resident Membership

The Espanola Public Library provides library memberships to town residents and residents of contracting municipalities at no cost. This includes those who live or own properties in Espanola, Baldwin Township (McKerrow), Nairn & Hyman Township (Nairn Centre) or Rainbow Local County Services Board (Whitefish Falls). Students of local high schools, and teachers of local school boards, upon providing valid and appropriate identification, will be considered residents through that school year period. Please see the chart below for details.

Non-Contracting Resident Membership

The library charges individuals a non-resident fee, in lieu of property taxes which are paid by residents. Residents living in areas which do not have a contract with the library are subject to the following fees:

  • 6 Month Membership: $50.00
  • 12 Month Membership: $70.00

How to Obtain a Membership

All members applying for a library membership must apply in person at the Espanola Public Library and must provide valid photo identification and proof of address before obtaining a library card. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a legal guardian to obtain a membership. Please see our Membership and Circulation Policy and our Unattended Children Policy for details.
