Espanola Game & Fish Spanish River Boat Launch
The Spanish River Boat Launch is located at the North Entrance of town off Highway 6 on Old Webbwood Road.
Al Secord Fitness Trail & Clear Lake Beach Follow the paved Al Secord Trail along Highway 6 to Clear Lake Beach. This sandy beach features accessible matting along the beach front which also provides entry into the water and easy access to an accessible picnic area. Also on site is a playground, a beach volleyball area, and public washrooms. Don’t miss the carving artistry at the entrance to Clear Lake Beach by the Carver Kings. The Al Secord Trail begins at Queensway Avenue near Tim Horton’s and Clear Lake Beach is visible from Highway 6 at Foster Drive, in the south end of town.
Trail of Distinction Espanola is an identified stop as part of the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail. This cycle trail is recognized by the Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport as offering the very best that Ontario trails have to offer. Intersecting in Espanola the trail connects West to Sault Ste Marie, East to Sudbury and South to Manitoulin and the Bruce Peninsula.
At the corner of Highway 6 and McCulloch Drive teetering on the top of a hydro pole is a family of Osprey which has made Espanola its home. Local Photographer Paul Grimard who is also a National Geographic photo journalist has captured the Osprey family while nesting and in flight.
Our challenging 9-hole golf course is bordered by the beautiful Spanish River. Take a swing but keep an eye out for meandering deer which generously share the course with local and visiting golfers. The course is meticulously cared for by a team of dedicated volunteers.
Boogie Mountain Ski Hill - A 4 Season Destination A ski hill in the winter and a Par 3, 9 hole course for golf, foot golf, lacrosse and fling golf in the warmer months. This charming ski hill also features cross country ski trails and hosts Elite Training camps all year round. Don’t leave town without visiting Boogie Mountain!
Espanola is fortunate to have a beautiful, non-motorized wilderness trail, managed by the Espanola Game & Fish Protective Association. The Black Creek Sno-Shoe Trail is located on the north side of Panache Lake Road, half a kilometer past the Yard Waste Disposal, and before the bridge over Black Creek. It is 1.5 km long, consisting of two joined loops. It follows along Black Creek. There are multiple pathways which include level ground and hillside routes, complete with benches and birdfeeders. In the summer, the trail is partially accessible to people using wheelchairs and walkers. It is a bustling place with frequent visitors of all ages and ability levels.
