LaCloche Foothills Community Safety and Well-being Plan

Strengthening Community Together: A Collaborative Plan 2021-2025

Under the Province's Police Services Act, municipalities are required to develop a Community Safety and Well-being Plan using the provincial government’s Community Safety and Well-being Framework.  These legislative requirements allow the Plan to be prepared jointly in consultation with other municipalities.

The communities of Baldwin, Espanola, Nairn and Hyman and Sables-Spanish Rivers have joined together to develop the LaCloche Foothills Community Safety and Well-being Plan. Our communities share many of the same service providers and organizations therefore the intention of joining together to develop this plan is to ensure that residents in all four communities have access to the same level of supports and services.

The aim of the Community Safety and Well-being Plan is to foster a safe, healthy and inclusive community by responding to identified priority risks. The Plan builds upon the community’s strengths while also addressing gaps in the community’s safety and wellbeing landscape. Ultimately, the Plan sets out to meet locally identified goals, outcomes and objectives through evidence-based outputs and actions.
