Flags at all municipal facilities will be lowered to half mast starting March 19th, 2024 until sunrise on Monday, March 25th, 2024 in respect of former Prime Minister of Canada, the Right Honourable Brian Mulroney, who passed away on February 29, 2024.
The Government of Canada will be holding a state funeral on March 23, 2024, in Montréal, Quebec, and will be preceded by a lying-in-state in Ottawa, Ontario, and a lying-in-repose in Montréal. The Right Honourable Brian Mulroney will lie-in-state at the Sir John A. Macdonald Building (144 Wellington Street), in Ottawa, on Tuesday, March 19 and Wednesday, March 20, 2024. He will then lie-in-repose at Saint Patrick’s Basilica (460 René-Lévesque Blvd West), in Montréal, on Thursday, March 21 and Friday, March 22, 2024.
