We regret to inform the public that the Splash Pad installation has been delayed to September which means that public use of the facility will be delayed to Spring 2023.
This delay is due to issues in receiving Ontario engineering stamps for the facility’s mechanical components. The Splash Pad manufacturer and supplier for ABC Recreation is based out of Quebec and has been unable to provide the required Ontario stamps ahead of the original and revised project delivery dates. As a consequence of backlogs for engineering review across the province, we have now been advised that this requirement will unfortunately delay the installation of the Splash Pad to September rather than August.
To ensure that the warranty period on the equipment is only activated when consistent public use of the facility is possible, opening of the Splash Pad will take place in Spring of 2023.
The Town looks forward to ensuring a fulsome spring and summer of activity at the Splash Pad in 2023 and we wish all residents an enjoyable summer 2022.
