Town Hires New Manager of Community and Recreation
The Corporation of the Town of Espanola is pleased to announce that Daniel Deschamps has been appointed as the new Manager of Community and Recreation. The hiring committee comprised of senior management and councillors was very pleased to select Deschamps from a pool of competitive candidates after a two-stage interview and evaluation process.
Native to Espanola, Deschamps brings with him a wealth of experience that has taken him all over Canada to work in recreation. A graduate of the Recreation Leadership program at Algonquin College in Ottawa, Deschamps has over fifteen years of experience in recreation facility management, community programming, and sales and customer service, including managing a number of municipal recreation departments and facilities.
In this role, Deschamps will be responsible for managing all recreation facilities and leisure services staff for the Town as well as the effective and efficient planning, programing, and budgeting for all municipal recreation and leisure services. Deschamps is set to start in this capacity on Monday July 4th, 2022.
